About Me
Creative Career
My face painting career started whilst I was in training as a N.N.E.B Nursery nurse at Dyke street Community Nursery (Hanley) in the late 1980s. I enjoyed the nursery & its approach to humanist style of care & education. The environment was bight and stimulating. I was often put forward to do the wall art, and educational displays.
One day we had a visiting freelance artist come to the nursery, she was impressed with my work and mentioned she was also a face painter, she asked me to come along to an event that weekend. I was blown away with the kind remarks from the public, and I have never looked back. I have had the pleasure of painting far & wide, Glastonbury to New York.
My career grew, & I decided to get a qualification to support my further journey within the world of make up/body art, I became a student upon the Theatrical & Media make up course (VCTC) I won second place in the regional body art awards for our course, and after that I taught the course alongside my fabulous Teacher Rachel Rees.
I have delivered body art & Special effects workshops at many venues including S-o-T college, Newcastle College & Stafford College. I continue to offer workshops within the industry and theatrical venues.
